This year's May, which was driest in the history of meteorological observations, is a clear demonstration of the importance of solutions for farmers to successfully cope with different climate extremes. Controlled drainage, which allows you to regulate run-off from the field and use it to irrigate the field in drier weather, is definitely one of them! Therefore, we invite crop farmers and other interested parties to get acquainted with the controlled drainage method during the Open-door Day at Z/S "Rožkalni". There will be an opportunity to see a working controlled drainage system and to ask any questions you may have to the experts.
The Open-door day will be attended by Gatis Pētersons, agronomist of Z/S "Rožkalni", Rūta Abaja, researcher of the Institute for Environmental Solutions, and Ģirts Strazdiņš, representative of the Latvian Fund for Nature. Detailed directions about location will be sent to interested parties.
